Budget-Friendly Kitchen Facelifts
Check out this high-impact facelift that saved both time and money. The kitchen was only out of commission for a few days, which means less interruption to residents' life.
This kitchen lies in the center of a beautiful historic brownstone. Before AYL Home Improvements came in, the overall theme of this kitchen was dark on dark with flat black countertops and dark wood floors, so our design focus was lightening and brightening. New custom cabinets for these 11'+ ceilings would have been very expensive. Instead, we designed and installed a cost-efficient and fast transformation of the space with a light marble-look quartz countertop, glossy large format tile, reflective glass subway tile backsplash, and LED under-cabinet lightening. We even managed to reclaim the hardwood flooring and relocate it to another room!
Sometimes a complete redesign is necessary. To reduce costs, we can minimize the movement of plumbing and major electrical (electric stoves / cooktops). In fact, often times simply changing the cabinet, island, or refrigerator locations can completely transform the usability of a space.
This stylish kitchen remodel manages to be bright and airy, even though the ceilings are an otherwise oppressive 7' tall (a full foot shorter than standard). Key elements include an expansive quartz countertop, vibrant glass tile backsplash, and a sleek induction cooktop to replace the clunky old range. We paired bright white upper cabinets (Ikea's Axstad white) with statement blue lower cabinets (Ikea's Axstad blue), while the on-trend brushed gold Hansgrohe faucet and cabinet hardware warm up the space. The finishing touch was glossy white appliances to blend into with the upper cabinets and reflect much needed light.
